Kenaf ( Hibiscus Cannabinus L)

   #KENAF -  ONE OF SHIVA's FAVORITE PLANTS

                            HIBISCUS CANNABINUS L - AKA - " KENAF"

Kenaf is fast growing plant (12'- 20'ft with 6 months to full maturity) that can be cultivated in many climates, regenerates the soil, and is unencumbered by the legal challenges faced by cannabis and industrial hemp production.

When planted by existing corn, cotton, or soy by farmers as a rotational cash crop it provides an economically viable way to make a gradual transition from sustainability, to resilience, and ultimately regenerative practices.

Some of the characteristics of the ancient Kenaf plant:

-OXYGEN PRODUCTION (3x that of a tropical rainforest per acre)

-CARBON SEQUESTRATION ( 7,000lbs+ per acre)

-SOIL REMEDIATION (natural toxic waste cleanup)

-CLEAN ENERGY ( 8,200 BTU+ per lb)

-HYDROCARBON ABSORPTION (up to 13x its weight on water or land)

-WASTE WATER TREATMENT (improving efficiency, reducing costs

-EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL (longevity, filtration of pollutants

-BUILDING MATERIALS (improving characteristics, reducing energy use)

-CARBON CREDITS  (reducing the emissions of CO2 into the atmosphere)
