Sacred Geometry

.   .  .

Sacred Geometry is often used in holistic practices and readily pictured on wellness merchandise, but what is the actual meaning behind it?

Sacred Geometric patterns exist all around us, creating the fundamental structure and templates of life in the universe. The patterns can be broken down into a language of mathematics that rules the entirety of our visible and invisible world. The geometrical archetypes reveal the nature of each form and its vibrational resonance, symbolizing the inseparable relationship between everything and everyone, which ultimately makes up our whole matrix and the universe at large – embodying oneness.

WHAT EXACTLY IS SACRED GEOMETRY?

Many teachings have described Sacred Geometry as the blueprint of creation and the genesis, the origin of all form. Sacred Geometry is considered an ancient science that explores and explains the energy patterns that create and unify all things while revealing the precise way that the energy of creation organizes itself. It is said that every natural pattern of growth or movement comes back to one or more geometric shapes.

The molecules of our DNA, the cornea of our eye, snowflakes, flower petals, crystals, a shell, the stars, the galaxy we spiral within, the air we breathe, and all life forms are created out of geometric codes.

HOW CAN SACRED GEOMETRY IMPROVE MY LIFE?

Through observing and contemplating sacred geometric shapes/codes they reveal deep wisdom, opening you up to 'life force' 'God Mind'  or 'Creator of the Universe Itself"

The ancients considered that the experience of Sacred Geometry was essential to the education of the soul. They knew that these patterns and codes were symbolic of our own inner realm and were significant to higher consciousness and self-awareness. Sacred Geometry amplifies our connection to spirit and creates harmony within ourselves and between ourselves and the outside world. It is often called “sacred architecture” because it underlies everything and is woven into the fabric of all creation.

Further, in addition to our physical realm, we have a “Lightbody Merkabah”, which is a grid work of light and sacred geometry that brings together your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual being. This body radiates light energy and links you and you as a multidimensional self, with the infinite universe.

.

( THE LATE GREAT MANDALA ARTIST- CHARLES GILCHRIST )

Sacred Geometry contains high frequencies of energy that can activate, heal, awaken, transform and open up pathways and doorways to the infinite realms, as well as the connection to the oneness of all life.

Sacred Geometry brings about certain effects of healing, harmonizing and rebalancing on all levels. It connects the inner and outer GIVING YOU THE UNDERSTANDING THAT ALTHOUGH SEPARATE WE ARE YET ONE!

WHERE TO BEGIN LEARNING ABOUT SACRED GEOMETRY ?

THE DOT

The  most primitive and fundamental of all symbols is the dot. Place a dot in the center of a sheet of blank white paper and what does it signify? Simply the ALL considered as THE ONE... OR THE FIRST POINT.

CIRCLE

Wholeness, oneness, never-ending circle/cycles of life, the eternal constant, cycles of change, unity, perfection, inclusive, boundaries. It is said the first thought of God is represented by a circle, which exists by itself (and then it created a replica of itself.)    By sharing the same radius.  You automatically get the potential for 2 circles out of 1.

TRIANGLE

The triangle is the symbol that underlies all of geometric shapes. Triangle symbolizes balance, harmony, completion. Rising upwards, it elevates us to Higher Consciousness

SQUARE

Foundations, solidity, grounding, practical, ‘earthly’, stability, dependability, safety. The base of a pyramid which creates the balance/stability.

SPIRAL

The Fibonacci and Golden mean ratio, all shapes come back to this mathematical formula known for its example of ‘As above, so below’ this ratio connects heaven and Earth.

The spiral ‘spirals’ up to connect the physical self to the Higher Self, and all levels of our being (inter-dimensionally) into the core of the Earth. Galaxies are in spirals of energy. Energy moves in spirals. The spiral is also the kundalini, which is symbolic of raising one’s consciousness on the path of the evolution of the soul.

The spiral is connected to the flow of energy through the chakras as they spin in a circle. The spiral is the spiral shape as a double helix in the DNA of each cell.

THE CROSS

The intersection of the 2 lines is where ‘heaven and earth’ meet, and the result of their union is mankind (symbolized by the cross).

PYRAMID (SPIRAL, TRIANGLE, AND SQUARE)

The Pyramid contains the spiral, the golden mean ratio, the triangle and square.

The pyramid contains the number of divinity 3 (the 3 sides to each triangle) plus the number of mankind 4 ( 4 sides of the square). It represents the relationships between Source & Humanity.

The Pyramid of Giza in Egypt was built to create the energy that facilitated connection with the spiritual realms. The top or apex of the pyramid represents the highest point of spiritual attainment, the body of the structure is the ‘journey’ or ascent to enlightenment, spiraling upwards. The pyramids were used for initiations, and in transporting to ‘other realms.’ They were used by the initiates to go through a kind of death and become ‘transformed’ or ‘reborn’.

MERKABAH (INTERLOCKING Pyramids)

         .

The upward triangle is masculine, the downward triangle is feminine, the two merging in perfect harmony. All sacred symbols contain/make up the Merkabah.

SEED OF LIFE

The “Seed of Life” is a contemporary name for an ancient geometric figure.  It consists of seven overlapping circles with the same diameter.  Six of them are regularly spaced within the seventh, producing a rosette with eighteen lens shaped petals: six smaller ones inside and twelve larger ones outside.

This figure can be replicated in six different directions, creating an interlocking net of circles and rosettes.

A version constructed from nineteen circles is known today as the “Flower of Life”.

The 'FLOWER OF LIFE'

These shapes express the connection with all living things in the universe. It is considered a sacred symbol universally, and said to also contain within it the ‘blue print of creation’, the ‘building blocks’ of the universe – which we call the “Platonic Solids”. These are templates through which the foundation of life can be expressed.

The Greek Mystery Schools 2,500 years ago taught that there were five perfect 3D forms – the tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron. These Platonic Solids are considered the foundation of everything in the physical world, revealing the unity in all things.

                                   METATRONS CUBE

The ancient geometric shape, known as Metatrons Cube (shown above) is a two dimensional grid of 13 interconnected circles, created when a straight line is drawn from the center of each circle to the center of each of the surrounding circles.

This shape anticipates and blueprints the 5 three dimensional crystalline archetypes (elements), known as the Pythagorean Platonic Solids. These solids each represent a specific element.  Each is made up of a certain number of "Polyhedrons" which are 3 dimensional shapes with flat polygonal faces and sharp corners or what geometricians call vertices. This shape, containing the root archtypes of geometry features ‘sacred’ and universal patterns, representing infinite form and shape potential. Hence, it is known as 'SACRED' Geometry.

The 5 Platonic Solids are:

Tetrahedron (Fire), is a polyhedron composed of four triangular faces, six straight edges, and four vertex corners.

Cube (Earth), is a 3 dimensional solid object bounded by six square faces, facets or sides, with three meeting at each vertex. Viewed from a corner it is a hexagon and its net is usually depicted as a cross.

Octahedron (Air), is a polyhedron with eight faces.

Icosahedron (Water ) is a polyhedron with 20 faces.

Dodecahedron (Spirit/Ether). Any polyhedron with twelve flat faces.

However, if you break these Platonic Solids down to their simplest forms, they form  the basic ‘sacred geometric shapes triangle, square, circle, spiral, and straight line. .

HOW IS SACRED GEOMETRY USED IN HEALING? AND CAN SACRED GEOMETRY IMPROVE MY MEDITATION?

Many years ago when I started exploring Sacred Geometry (which I discovered through eating a large dose of psychedelic mushrooms for the first time)  I found that you could consciously connect with the shapes and use them for finding "healing" and "Understanding" by way of answering questions and showing me the interconnectedness of this world.

I find meditating with these symbols (especially Metatron's Cube) and crystal grids  can become incredibly beneficial.

Words really do not explain it, it must be experienced. That is as simple as sitting and observing the 'Flower of Life' for 10 minutes.    THIS IS THE WAY TO UNDERSTAND THIS...  JUST OBSERVE METATRON'S CUBE OR THE FLOWER OF LIFE FOR 10 MINUTEs.. SEE WHAT HAPPENS !!

Sacred Geometric shapes, as we have shown, bring us back to the foundational building blocks of life. Sacred Geometry can help you connect more deeply to your inner self while helping to harmonize you with the outer. It expands us and connects us on many levels.

Each Geometric Platonic shape has a specific energy vibration, intention. as well as feeling of energy. When using them in meditation or healing they can bring about an energetic shift in your being by creating harmony and re-balancing in your consciousness.

Some energy healing practices and symbols are used specifically like this. The symbols are like ‘super-charged’ focus, intended to open your mind to a specific elemental energy.

To create crystal grids in sacred geometric shapes, you sit inside the crystal grids in the shape  as you meditate and feel the benefits, or you can also sit and meditate while looking at these grids with crystals placed on key points of the grid.

Crystals themselves can transmit sacred geometric codes and so when they are held or applied to the body/chakras, their energetic vibrations affect healing and re-balancing on all levels, body, mind, emotions, spirtual. Crystal healing as a healing modality also uses grids on the body/chakras in specific patterns for their healing, harmonizing, and unifying benefits. Why? Because our bodies are made of atomic energies!

SCIENTIFICALLY WE ARE TRYING ARE TO HARMONIZE THE BALANCE AND FUNCTIONALITY OF THE NEUTRONS/ELECTRONS IN YOUR BODY !

Also, you can connect to sacred geometric shapes anytime – not just sitting in meditation. As you go about your day, you can bring yourself back into the present moment and become mindfully aware of the sacred geometric shapes that make up the world around us in the flowers, the seashells, the shape of bugs, animals, leaves, and Human bodies. Being conscious of Sacred Geometry is a great reminder of the connection to all in life – People, Nature, Life.

MANDALA MEDITATION

For centuries many cultures have used mandala's for their spiritual practices. What is a Mandala and what is the benefit of that?

A mandala is a design made up of symbols and shapes within a square and circle. You can often see the Flower of Life or Seed of Life in a mandala, as well as circles, spirals, triangles, etc.

                                              ( Tibetan Buddhist Mandala)

The mandala is one of humankind's most ancient art forms. With the circle as its basis, it reflects eternity and all of nature: the sun, the moon even the bird's nest. Types of mandalas may be found in all religions, as well as in psychology.

The word "mandala" is Sanskrit for "circle." According to mandala artist Charles Gilchrist, Mandalas have been found across the Far East, and Native Americans symbolism is based on the "sacred hoop." Mandalas are considered to be of Eastern origin, but it would be difficult, if not impossible, to find any civilization without some awareness of the circle's symbolism and potential for spiritual self-examination.

The circle is the most natural form known to mankind. The universe is made up of planets, stars, moons and the sun---all spherical in shape. The sun rises and sets in a never-ending circle; seasons pass in an annual circle. Trees, rocks and raindrops are circular, and most fruits and flowers are spherical. The cells and atoms that make up everything within the universe are circular.

Mandalas have been used by Buddhists, Hindus, Tibetans and Native Americans in prayer, meditation and for healing. Buddhists make mandala sand paintings that are destroyed after they have served their purpose. Many Christian religions use the mandala without even realizing it. For example, Gothic cathedral rose windows, with their intricate designs, are clearly mandalas.

In Islam, the circle represents the unity of the monotheistic God. Its center represents God, as well as the city of Mecca, considered the spiritual and geographical centers of Islam, respectively. Sometimes the circle is encompassed by an eight-pointed star, which represents the light of God spreading throughout the world. In turn, the repetition of shapes suggests God's infinite nature, as well as Islam's preoccupation with harmony and order.

The word Mandala actually means ‘circle’ in Sanskrit.  As you draw and create a mandala , the sacred geometry can reveal the inner workings of yourself and your soul. It can be used as a meditation tool to create feelings of inner peace and calm, reduce stress and anxiety, and much more. It is a fun and creative way to for you to intermingle with "Shiva Consciousness."
